Terrasse Nelligan

Terrasse Nelligan is Hotel Nelligan’s rooftop bar and grill. This patio is highly reviewed for its gorgeous view of the Old City and the St. Lawrence River. Terrasse offers lunch, brunch, and dinner menus, accompanied by an amazing and inspired cocktail menu. They are best known for their “clear sangria.” Terrasse also offers a “Host Table” with a choice of appetizers and a main course. Terrasse is a fancy culinary experience, offering a “raw bar” of oysters and shrimp, and a variety of inspired fine-dining options. But despite the spectacular food, the real seller of Terrasse Nelligan is the view. High in the sky, you can sit right along the outside of the hotel and look at the historic buildings of Montreal.

Boris Bistro

Boris Bistro is a bistro-bar in the heart of Old Montreal. It is the perfect place for a date as it is 18+ – no kids allowed! The outdoor patio is large and surrounded by gorgeous trees that make it private and scenic. There are also umbrellas to shade tables from the sun. They have a variety of classic French and Quebec foods and offer gluten-free and lactose-free options. They have an expansive wine list and an excellent selection of alcohol and cocktails, including their own creations. Reviews of the restaurant note a quiet patio, excellent service, and that the outdoor space is beautiful.

Taverne Gaspar

Taverne Gaspar is a more casual date spot – but don’t count it out just yet. It boasts a delicious, top-rated menu of pub staples and two outdoor patios perfect for date night. They describe their menus to host “comforting food, original cocktails, and a careful selection of local beers and spirits.” The restaurant is themed like a tavern in a former warehouse in Old Montreal. They have kept it authentic but modernized some of the interior. They offer both brunch, lunch, dinner, and dessert, as well as a cocktail and wine menu. Their foods are a take on tavern classics but are elevated and nicely plated.

Modavie

Modavie is a wine bar in Old Montreal well known for its romantic atmosphere and beautiful outdoor patio. They describe themselves as having an “old-timey jazz vibe” and specialize in lamb dishes. They are well known for their live local jazz, R&B, and blues artists 7 nights a week. On the weekends, they also host a jazz brunch. Modavie offers brunch, happy hour, and dinner, as well as an expansive wine list. They serve French Bistro cuisine and offer a host table option as well as an A La Carte menu. They offer some seafood stables like calamari, escargot, and octopus salad, but also have some staples for picky eaters like a caesar salad, ravioli, or steak frites.

Abreuvoir Bar et Terrasse

Abreuvoir is a modern and exciting patio perfect for a hip night out with a younger crowd. They offer sports on TV and even karaoke! The outdoor patio is absolutely gorgeous. It is industrially designed with black wooden floors, a live edge bar, and speakers are placed on black metal beams overhead. It is closed in on all sides and the walls are covered with hanging vines. There is tons of seating and multiple levels. Their menu offers casual eats with a fancy finish and their cocktail menu is exciting and offers a host of custom cocktails. Abreuvoir is a perfect place for a casual date that is still impressive and delicious, ad the atmosphere definitely elevates the experience!

Jardin Nelson

Another top jazz spot, Jardin Nelson is located in historic square and boasts a heated garden patio that is impressive for any date! The entire patio looks like something out of a movie, and even the menu’s design is inspired by gorgeous foliage. The patio can even be fully covered with retractable awnings on rainy days. Jardin Nelson is well known for its crepes and dessert, but they also offer a full bistro menu with French cuisine and casual eats. Jardin Nelson is also located in the heart of Old Port, meaning you can keep your date going with a fun variety of after-dinner activities, desserts, or drinks!
